The New Moon is the start of a new cycle and the energy of each new moon themes the next four weeks ahead.
There are a lot of great things you can do to celebrate and enjoy the new moon every cycle.
Each month, I like to choose a couple of things which resonate with me at the time and I give myself permission to take time out to honour the Moon, her energy, her guidance and myself too.
Working with the Moon has been transformation for me and the simple act of marking off time in my calendar at every new and full moon to check in with myself and respect my needs, dreams, goals and desires is a big part of that.
My Moon work is my promise to myself which I never fail to keep, because it works.
The simple act of taking a long cleansing bath, followed by some journaling and pulling my tarot cards is all it takes for me to connect with the energy of the Moon and also connect with myself.
Working with the Moon has been a process of self-discovery, healing and learning for me and I feel blessed to now guide others in the same beautiful practice.

8 Things to do on a New Moon
1. Disconnect and Unplug
To work with the New Moon energies it’s a good idea to unplug for a while and take a break from social media, email and mobile phones. I always plan to switch off from tech quite early in the day and saying ‘no’ to TV and the internet all evening. Ahh bliss.
Before I start my New Moon wishes ritual (see number 6) I will be spending some time getting things uncluttered and tidied up. I always find that de-cluttering my physical space leaves much more room for me to work on what’s going on inside, I’m less distracted and I find relaxing easier to do.
3. Clear the body
Treat yourself to a nice relaxing candlelit bath. You can add salt, rose petals, herbs or your favourite oils. This will help to relax the muscles, remove any stress being held anywhere in the body and allow you to concentrate on clearing the mind.
Restorative yoga is the best choice here so choose poses which encourage maximum relaxation such as Child’s Pose, Legs up the Wall Pose, Happy Baby and Shavasana. Or check out a Yoga Nidra routine on YouTube to guide you through a restorative yoga routine.
Meditation is good at any time but more so during the significant phases of the moon such as the full and new moon to help tap into those energies.
6. Make a wish
The New Moon is all about manifestation and is perfect for setting your New Moon wishes. Spend some time writing out what you want to achieve during this lunar cycle. Get clear on your goals and dreams and make sure you’re pointing in the right direction.
7. Journal and plan
The New Moon is also about planting the seeds for the future so it’s a great time to journal, plan, organise and get ready for action. I like to map out my business, personal, spiritual and fitness plans for the cycle ahead of me during the energy of the new moon.
