2022 has been an extremely changeable year for me. Nothing has stayed the same for very long, and as such it’s been hard to find my flow.

Change is inevitable, I know that, but constant change has created a very stressful environment for me to live and work in. This has been mentally draining and physically exhausting.

As I deal with all this change, I also feel that I’ve stood still and experienced little progress throughout the year.

Perhaps the lack of flow has been the problem, or maybe the resistance I’ve experienced to the changes as they occur has kept me stuck. Whatever it is, the whole thing has been frustrating, to say the least.

This got me thinking about how I can embrace and adapt to the inevitability of change, with less disruption to my flow and less resistance to the process.

I recently watched a YouTube video by Jack Canfield, which I found useful. In it, he says;

Change is an opportunity for you to experience something new and grow and evolve as a person

I’m keeping this quote visible in my home office, as it’s a great reminder that change doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

He then goes on to say;

Your response to the event, not the event itself, determines the outcome of the experience.

This really hits home about how much control we have regarding change. And looking back I can see that my reaction to change has mostly been the reason why the change was more challenging as it needed to be…..with a few exceptions.
