New Moon in Aries – April 2019

New Moon in Aries

We start the April cycle with the New Moon in Aries which really does take on the theme of ‘new beginnings‘ to a different level. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and when the Sun shifted into Aries on 21st March we experienced the astrological new year. In the Northern Hemisphere we also saw the beginning of Spring, the season of growth, while those in the Southern Hemisphere experienced the autumn equinox and the start of release.

This new moon is more about starting something new than any other. We put so much weight on the ‘New Year’ and the 1st of January as a time to begin, however the lunar and seasonal cycles do not support this. I love this time of the year because no matter which hemisphere you live its a perfect time to start fresh.

What is a New Moon All About?

The New Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon meet in the sky causing the Moon to go dark when viewed from the Earth. The New Moon falls between the Waning Crescent (Balsamic Moon) and the Waxing Crescent Moon phases.

The New Moon is all about new beginnings, planting the seeds for the future and making plans. This is a time for contemplation and planning rather than action. This phase encourages introspection and connecting with our deeper selves and to do this in the modern world it’s essential that we slow right now.

As we head towards the New Moon we find that our energy levels start to drop. I know I’m certainly feeling it. This dark phase we’re in now encourages slowing down, healing and soothing.

When is the April New Moon in Aries?

I’m in the UK and the New Moon is at 09:50 on Friday 5th April.

Here’s a link to find out what time it is in your part of the world

I’ve also included some time zones below for quick reference.

What does it mean when the New Moon is in Aries?

  • Sign Element: Fire
  • Ruling Planet: Mars
  • Quality: Cardinal

The Moon in Aries brings a tendency for conflict. More than any other time during the Moon Sign cycle emotional tension grows and people become impulsive and short-tempered.

This is the perfect time to let go of anything which winds you up or doesn’t support your goals and dreams. At the same time it’s helpful to practice self-control, limit exposure to stress.

  • This moon sign is good for: Getting things done quickly
  • This moon sign is not good for: Quiet introspective time

Take Your New Moon Journey Even Further with The Magickal Moon Club

Inside The Magickal Moon Club like to celebrate the New Moon in Style!

On Friday 5th April I am hosting a New Moon Live Event inside the private Facebook Group (replay available) with members of the Magickal Moon Club. We get together to connect with the power of the New Moon through a guided visualisation. We then talk about the specific energy of the coming lunar cycle to help manifest our goals and dreams through a New Moon wishes ritual.

Also inside this month’s New Moon Guide and Workbook I talk about a rare astrological event which is happening during the Aries New Moon and another lunar energy feature which makes this one a bit different from the others too! We also have three planetary retrogrades to work with during this lunar cycle so there’s a lot going on, which is why I’ve included a retrograde guide in this months content to help navigate the upcoming energies.

April is going to be extra special as we have our guest Trudie Core from Indigo Grace guiding us to become master manifestors and I can’t wait to see what we achieve this month!

Hi, I’m Sarah Cornforth and I'm a Creatrix of Magick.  I have never really considered myself creative or artistic as I'm too much of a perfectionist for that and I still find it hard to accept the word ‘artist’ as a title for myself. Initially creating art was a way of coping with the curveballs of life. When I draw, or paint or craft I feel calmer, my mind slows down to a pace I can cope with and life becomes easier. I also love working closely with the phases of the moon and the cycles of nature in everything I do as the benefits are huge. At the end of 2017 a dear friend nudged me in the direction of creating art to sell, and if it had been anyone else who encouraged me I would have thought they were mad. But this particular friend has a special gift. She can see the life purpose of others. So I listened and I took every piece of advice she had to give me.....and here I am, creating art, working with the Moon, teaching people how to heal through Mandala art, feeling happy and sharing what I love with the world. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
