New Moon in Aries – Fresh Start

At the New Moon in Aries the energy is all about fire, moving forward and getting in alignment with your true purpose. The Sun is now in the sign of Aries too and we have officially started the astrological year and the lunar year as Aries is the first sign of the zodiac.

All New Moons are about new beginnings and starting fresh, but this one is bigger than that. This one is the beginning of the start or something new and we are looking at the full astrological year ahead (the next 12 months) when we consider our plans and goals at this time.

Working with the New Moon

During the time of the New Moon, the Sun and Moon are in conjunction in the night’s sky combining their energies in the same sign of the zodiac.

A conjunction is a positive astrological relationship between two planets who occupy a space within 10 degrees of each other on an astrological chart. When the Sun and Moon are in conjunction with each other they appear to be in the same place in the sky when seen relative to the Earth. During this time the Sun’s light does not reflect off the surface of the Moon which why a New Moon is not visible in the sky.

Here we begin the new theme for the cycle ahead and this is determined by the zodiac sign the New Moon occurs under.

During the course of a calendar year we experience a new moon in every sign of the zodiac which allows us to come full circle in what is learned during that time.

Tune into the New Moon theme each cycle and be open to the possibilities it presents. This is the time for brainstorming ideas and making plans for the lunar cycle ahead. During this time it’s good to feel excited as we consider the new opportunities available to us.

The New Moon in Aries is happening at 4 degrees in Aries

At the previous New Moon in the sign of Pisces we completed a cycle in the last sign of the zodiac. Now, in Aries season and the Aries New Moon we start a brand new yearly cycle as well as a monthly cycle in the first sign of the zodiac.

This energy is of beginnings, creation and starting fresh and it’s fiery and passionate. However there is a lot of challenge and discomfort when it comes to starting something new so don’t let this energy pass you by. Make a list, take action and keep moving.

Aries is about being in alignment with your true purpose and as a sign which doesn’t do well with distraction it’s important to filter everything else out for a while. Allow yourself to be heart led and soul led and you embark on your path.

The passion you feel for your purpose will give you the motivation and courage to keep going.

There is no room for self-doubt, procrastination, worry or second guessing as you don’t have time for that. Now is when you make decisions, take action and get things done.

Focus on your true purpose and remove all other distractions

Setting our Intentions on the New Moon

As you set your intentions, wishes and goals this new moon consider your relationship with each wish, dream and goal.

  • Are you in alignment with what you want to achieve?
  • Are you setting yourself up for success or failure with your commitment to that intention?
  • Do you truly believe that you are capable of achieving everything you wish for?

These are hard questions which need to be asked.

Consider what you want to achieve between this New Moon in Aries and the energetic climax of the lunar cycle which is the Full Moon in Libra two weeks after the new moon.

Also look further ahead over the next 6 months when the Moon becomes full in the sign of Aries signifying the end of a cycle. This happens on 1st October 2020. And finally look ahead to the full astrological year ahead of you which ends as the Sun enters Aries again at the same time next year.

Your wishes are made with a vibrational frequency and the energy you put behind each one send a message to the universe. This is why it’s so important to be in alignment with your goals, wish, intentions and dreams.

The key to accomplishing things under the Aries Moon is to pace yourself. Work hard in spurts and then take a break.

Moon Power – Simome Butler

Speed, energy and impulsiveness. The world accelerates when the Moon enters Aries, and many things that seemed inconceivable a day before can now become possible.

Moon Sign – Alexander Kilesnikov

On the infant moon (new moon in Aries) we begin things. That’s what it’s for. It is the Fool card in the Tarot deck, blithely stepping off the cliff with unquenchable faith in the Universe’s benevolence.

Hi, I’m Sarah Cornforth and I'm a Creatrix of Magick.  I have never really considered myself creative or artistic as I'm too much of a perfectionist for that and I still find it hard to accept the word ‘artist’ as a title for myself. Initially creating art was a way of coping with the curveballs of life. When I draw, or paint or craft I feel calmer, my mind slows down to a pace I can cope with and life becomes easier. I also love working closely with the phases of the moon and the cycles of nature in everything I do as the benefits are huge. At the end of 2017 a dear friend nudged me in the direction of creating art to sell, and if it had been anyone else who encouraged me I would have thought they were mad. But this particular friend has a special gift. She can see the life purpose of others. So I listened and I took every piece of advice she had to give me.....and here I am, creating art, working with the Moon, teaching people how to heal through Mandala art, feeling happy and sharing what I love with the world. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
