Working with the Moon

Starting 2021 with the Moon

“Always remember we are under the same sky, looking at the same moon”

Since before the start of the year, we have heard a lot about planning ahead, setting goals and dreaming big.

Now, I’m a big fan of creating a plan but I’ve always found the lead up to the New Year and the first few days of the year very uncomfortable for planning.

  • It feels pushed
  • It feels forced
  • It feels awkward
  • It feels out of sync and out of flow

And that’s because it is!

As we enter January we experience our first New Moon of the year on the 12th/13th depending on where you live in the world. This New Moon is the perfect time for ideas and plans.

Why?

  • Because the New Moon supports the birth of beginnings.
  • It’s when ideas flow naturally.
  • And it’s an ideal time for brainstorming and collecting thoughts, plans and big ideas.

I really like to wait for this New Moon to plan the year ahead. It just feels right. And in a world that feels wrong on so many levels these days it’s important to go with what feels right. Don’t you agree?

Is it too late to leave planning 2021 until the first New Moon of the year?

Well, I don’t think so. After all, we are planning a whole twelve months and a couple of weeks are not going to make much difference to our plans, especially if we use those weeks wisely.

How can you use this time before the New Moon wisely?

I like to prepare to plan during this time.

I’ve noticed that I get lots of ideas coming through quite randomly during this time so as they arrive I collect them together inside a little notes app on my phone to process later.

Capturing ideas and inspiration is my primary focus right now and it really takes away a lot of the pressure of the New Year planning push.

I also begin getting myself ready for planning by making decisions on things like planning tools, stationary, systems and processes. I also like to do a bit of decluttering and make space for everything I want to bring in for the year ahead.

After the challenges of 2020 I think it’s essential to make life easier, don’t you agree?

What does Lunar Astrology Say?

Well, lunar astrology is on our side with this one. You see the New Moon is happening in the sign of Capricorn. Which means both the Sun and the Moon are in the same sign and Capricorn loves to plan. In fact planning for the long term, future is kind of Capricorn’s thing.

Open up a Door to Your Inner World in 2021

I often refer to Moon work as soul work as it’s all about exploring who you are on a deeper level than ever before.

The Moon encourages us to spend more time in flow with the natural cycles of the universe by listening to and exploring our feelings, emotions, reactions to stress and other challenges.

The Moon shows us just how far we have come and just how strong we are as a result.

She is a powerful spiritual guide and now more than ever it is vital that we dedicate our time to being the best version of ourselves.
